Born and raised in Los Angeles to a novelist and psychologist, Michael is a collaborative storyteller in the art of translating feeling into imagery.
Michael is member of the International Cinematographers Guild and alumnus of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. With a background rising through the ranks of camera departments of theatrical features and scripted television shows (How to Get Away with Murder, Fresh Off the Boat, etc.), Michael has done steadicam or conventional camera operating on such shows as Ziwe (Showtime), The Endgame (NBC), and Harlem (Amazon), and in commercial and branded work for such brands as H&M, Everlane, Bloomingdales, Sony, Scion, and American Ballet Theater. Michael’s cinematography work has ranged from Bloomingdale’s campaigns to commercial and branded work for brands like Sony, Harpers Bazaar x Neiman Marcus, American Girl, Panasonic, and Blizzard Entertainment.
With his wide breadth of experience, whatever the story, whatever the photographic process, Michael is prepared to execute the visual design of any project in a manner that is both visually evocative and emotionally effective.
